Colin K. Kurata

I came out of law school at the same time that the Bankruptcy Code went into affect, which allowed me to enter new grounds on an equal footing with practitioners and do many test cases. I have represented trustees, debtors (business and consumer), and creditors (credit card companies, landlords, vendors). Cases have included: dismissing the involuntary bankruptcy of Hawaiian Chocolate by Hershey; sale of assets of a major juice company, and recovering over 200 cars for Toyota from a major car rental company.

In the collections area, my investigations have been used by the FBI to indict a $6 million insurance heist and the Marino Family scam (gypsies). I have represented: Queen’s Medical Center, Monroe-Fried Lander Management, Servco Pacific, Chase Bank, and many local companies.
